Back on My Bullshit
Started on a new role today, and man I am beat. The onboarding process, millions of forms, software to download and the list goes on. While stressful I am pumped to start all over again. I felt I was getting a bit to comfortable at the last role, not a bad thing, but change was necessary to grow as I felt my skills were stagnating.
Now it’s not easy, comfort is fun and easy. You wake up each day knowing what to do and expect, but that doesn’t get me out of bed anymore. I need the risk of failure, the learning opportunities and a little bit of madness to keep things going. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the more skills I gain the more I get into this field.
Now with that being said I am hoping to get back into a lot of stuff that eluded me the past week I had off doing nothing. I created a list of ideas I’ve came across that I want to start to improve on:
- Reading about Software (I found a great reading list I’ve ordered books and want to put in around an extra 2 hours to just reading per week)
- Building on the Lowe’s scraper website and making it into a service
- Writing blogs on here less to work on the above
My main advice is do this before you wait to long and end up stuck somewhere. While it’s a massive pain in the ass to search for jobs, interview, and start somewhere new it’ll be significantly better for your personal growth as a developer.
Thanks for the read!
